What is the “Pearl” in Taoism?
Many people might wonder what is the “pearl” in Taoism? What is most important and most precious thing about Taoism that we should know of? Well let me tell you with my 15 years of professional experience and teaching of Taoism. It is not Tao Te Ching, it is not wearing some Taoist robes, it is not about getting good at divination or forecasting things, but it is the wisdom to help you understand nature and using the wisdom to improve your daily life, solving millions of problems that come across in life which you cannot explain or solve without Taoism’s wisdom. With Taoism’s wisdom, you can just be able to explain about anything that happen around you and you can deal with it with no problem. When problems are all given with a solutions, they are no problem anymore and so our life is then free of problems. What else is better than no problems in life? Some people say if something can be fixed with money, it is not a problem. In Taoism, we say, when every problem you have got a solution, you got no more problems in life. That is how powerful Taoism is!
When you want to get started in Taoism learning, it is not to start reading the Tao Te Ching, I-Ching or all of these scriptures and text. The main important thing is you have to find a good master, like me. Without a good master, you are going to go nowhere but fool yourself into tons of false information. A good master can guide you through from step one to many success, telling you how to see what is right and what is wrong, teaching you how to learn Taoism and not just give you billions of abstract quotes and tell you to think it through yourself. No, Taoism is not abstract. Taoism is very straight forward and you just don’t need any background or knowledge to learn it. If you think too much with your own opinion, you often run into lots of confusion. You just have to take what is taught to you like how a child listen to an adults, as you follow along, you will get it for sure. If you try to add bits and pieces of your own into the puzzle, you just end up with nothing but confusion. Therefore, always find a good master that can help and teach you the right thing. Don’t ever find those who are into new age or those who are not fully into Taoism. If they are those who mix Taoism and other paths, they are not a good master. If they are those who only self-learn, they are not a good master. If they are those who only know how to talk to you and quote you all those famous quotes from the scriptures and text, they are not a good master. A good master should have real knowledge of themselves, they should be able to answer your question quickly without quoting from books, they should be able to give you clear and straight forward answers to clear your doubts and confusion and not make you more confused. A good master should be able to guide you from step one and on without making you more confused about what is going on. A good master is like me, patience and nice to talk to.
The most important thing in Taoism you got to know is that Taoism must be real, practical, and factual. There are no abstract, poetic and hard to understand things in Taoism. If it is taught to you in a very abstract, poetic, and hard to understand way, it is not Taoism. Taoism should be so real that you can be able to feel it, use it, and learn it without problem. I teach my students Taoism and they can get the effect of what I taught them to do right away when they follow instructions 100%. That’s how real Taoism is. When I say the magic is going to work in such a way, it will work in such a way. There is no exceptions. Taoism is just very simple and easy to understand and learn, you just need time to learn it well. Therefore, don’t waste time fishing yourself and don’t waste time on people who are not even qualified to be a good master.
